Initial DayZ++ Setup

This guide will walk you through the first-time setup of the DayZ++ bot on your Discord server.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you meet the following requirements:

  • Server Ownership: Only the official owner of the Discord server can complete the initial setup.
  • Nitrado Game Server: You must already have a Nitrado game server up and running. The setup cannot proceed without it.
  • DayZ++ Bot Installed: The bot must be added to your Discord server.
    If you haven’t added it yet, click this link to invite the bot.
  • Nitrado API long life access token

Once these prerequisites are in place, you’ll be ready to start configuring DayZ++ for your community.

Setup

  1. Visit the DayZ++ Dashboard and log in with your Discord account.
  2. Once logged in, return to the landing page, click Dashboard, and select your Discord server from the list.
  3. In the sidebar, open the Nitrado Connection tab.
    • On mobile, expand the sidebar by tapping the ☰ (three bars) icon in the top-right corner.
    • Link your Nitrado API long-life access token.
    • If you don’t have one yet, follow this guide to generate your token.
  4. With the Nitrado connection established, you can now link your game server(s) to Discord:
    • Navigate to the Gameserver Settings tab in the sidebar.
    • Click Add a Gameserver.
    • Select your server from the menu.
    • If you own multiple servers, repeat this step for each one.

  5. With your game server(s) successfully linked to Discord, the last step is to set up billing.

    • Open the Billing tab in the sidebar.
    • Choose either a monthly plan or a lifetime subscription (one-time payment with additional features).

    Once billing is complete, you can begin configuring the bot.

    Tip

    • Settings related to your Discord server (e.g., economy features) are available in the sidebar after you select your Discord server (the current sidebar you are seeing).
    • Your primary focus will likely be the game server–specific settings (such as feeds).
    • To access these, expand the Gameserver Settings tab in the sidebar, select your game server from the dropdown, and you’ll be redirected to a page with all available configuration options in the sidebar.

  6. You’ve completed the initial setup! You can now move on to the next stage: Configuration to customize DayZ++ for your community.

Can't see your Discord server in the list?

The most common reasons (and fixes) are:

  • You added the bot after logging in to the dashboard.
    ✅ Fix: Log out of the dashboard and log in again.

  • The bot hasn’t been added to your server yet.
    ✅ Fix: Invite the DayZ++ bot.

  • You are not the official owner of the Discord server.
    ✅ Fix: The initial setup can only be completed by the server owner.

  • Server ownership was transferred to you after your first dashboard login.
    ✅ Fix: Log out of the dashboard and repeat the setup steps.
